Implementation Guidelines

For Existing BIS License Holders

Non-compliance will result in license cancellation or model deletion.

For New Applicants

Applications can be filed under either the old or new standard until 27 July 2025.
After 27 July 2025, only the new standard IS 16270:2023 will be accepted.
A declaration of compliance with IS 16270:2023 will be mandatory.

For Change in Scope of License

Requests will be processed as per the updated guidelines.
Old standard applications allowed only till 27 July 2025, with declaration of compliance required.
